While Waiting For Tulsa King Season 3, Watch Frank Grillo’s $118M Action Horror Movie Trending On Streaming

Fans of Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King likely want to see more of Bill Bevilaqua actor Frank Grillo, and luckily, one of his biggest movies is trending on Max. Frank Grillo joined the cast of Tulsa King season 2 as Bill Bevilaqua, the mob boss of Kansas City. After Dwight Manfredi (Stallone) made waves in Oklahoma, Bevilaqua demanded a cut of his proceeds and started a gang war over Dwight’s disrespect. Grillo and Cal Thresher actor Neal McDonough were some of the best parts of Tulsa King season 2, and fans may be looking for more of his work.

The only problem with Frank Grillo’s portrayal of Bill Bevilaqua is that it’s over, for the time being. After the ending of Tulsa King season 2, many fans may not be able to wait for Tulsa King season 3, which still has yet to be officially confirmed by Paramount. Once it is confirmed – as Sylvester Stallone seems confident it will be – there will still be a long development and marketing period before the show is ready to watch again. Luckily, Frank Grillo has the perfect movie to watch while waiting for more Tulsa King.

Frank Grillo’s Action Role In The Purge: Election Year Is Great To Watch After His Villainous Tulsa King Story

Leo Barnes Is Very Different From Bill Bevilaqua, But They Both Highlight Grillo’s Abilities

Recently, one of Frank Grillo’s movies experienced a surge in popularity. The Purge: Election Year reached the top of Max’s streaming charts, and it’s a great opportunity to see Grillo play a wildly different character than Bill Bevilaqua. Grillo’s Purge character, Leo Barnes, is an ex-police sergeant turned bodyguard for a politician who wants to end the annual Purge, a night where all crime is permitted. Leo is essentially the opposite of Bevilaqua: he’s heroic where Bill is villainous, he’s brave where Bill hides in the shadows, and he fights to help others, while Bill fights to line his own pockets.

As different as Leo and Bill are, both of Grillo’s characters highlight one of the things that make him such a great actor. Frank Grillo has an incredible amount of range: he can play a classic action hero, a sleazy, underhanded gangster, or even a super villain in a comic book movie. He’s just as believable as Leo, running around an anarchistic city and saving innocent lives, as he is as Bill Bevilaqua, planning hits and having sit-downs with other gangsters. It may not be a perfect replacement for Tulsa King, but Grillo’s role in The Purge: Election Year showcases his talents in the same way.

Tulsa King Gives Frank Grillo A Fantastic Replacement For The Purge Movies

Grillo Hasn’t Confirmed He’ll Do Another Purge Movie, But Tulsa King Could Be His New Franchise

Though the Purge franchise was one of Grillo’s breakthrough roles – alongside his role as Crossbones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – the actor isn’t sure he’ll return to it. Grillo gave an uncertain update about The Purge 6, and he mentioned that he might focus more on his supernatural horror movie Werewolves. If Grillo doesn’t return to the Purge franchise, Tulsa King could be a great replacement franchise for him to focus on. Tulsa King season 3, while not yet officially confirmed, seems like a virtual certainty, and Grillo will more than likely reprise his role as Bill Bevilaqua.

Even though Tulsa King puts Grillo in a more villainous role than the Purge franchise did, it could actually become a bigger success story for the actor. Tulsa King puts Grillo opposite Sylvester Stallone, and its record-breaking viewership on Paramount+ made it one of Grillo’s most popular projects in years. It also has more potential than the Purge franchise does, especially since it’s been four years since The Forever Purge was released. If Frank Grillo decides to focus on crime thrillers again in the future, he may choose Tulsa King over The Purge.
