When Harry Met Sally‘s Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan tease a project in a new image. One of the most beloved romantic comedies of all time, When Harry Met Sally… was released in 1989. Directed by Rob Reiner, the film tells the story of friends Harry and Sally, who are interested in each other but worry that having Sєx will ruin the foundation of friendship that they have kindled. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the Nora Ephron-penned script and is still beloved today.

Per Ryan’s Instagram page, a new image of her and Crystal has been revealed. The image shows the When Harry Met Sally… duo reunited, sitting on a loveseat sofa behind a coffee table. There is floral wallpaper behind them that matches the wallpaper from the original movie. Crystal is also wearing his iconic white cable knit sweater. While Ryan does not reveal what exactly this project was, she captioned the pH๏τo with “It’s finally happening, we’re reuniting for something iconic. Can’t wait to show you all soon.”

A When Harry Met Sally Sequel Might Happen

Ryan keeps it vague as to what exactly this upcoming project is. The most exciting reunion endeavor would be a sequel to When Harry Met Sally. There have been a lot of legacy sequels and reunions after years if not decades happening in recent times, making a revival of the rom-com more likely. Reiner himself is even working on such a project, as he is in development on Spinal Tap 2. As of now, there has not been a When Harry Met Sally... sequel announcement, but Ryan’s post could be indicative of an announcement soon to come.

On the other hand, Crystal and Ryan might be acting together again on a completely different project. Ryan recently directed and starred in the romantic comedy What Happens Later, showing her propensity for making genre films with new content. Crystal has been outside the romantic comedy genre, but would likely be welcomed back by audiences excited to see him act with Ryan again.
