Silly Robert Eggers Art Predicts His Werewolf Design Based On How He Changed Nosferatu’s Count Orlok

Silly Robert Eggers art has predicted his werewolf design for his next movie, Werwulf, based on how he changed Nosferatu‘s Count Orlok in his remake. The characters in Nosferatu are loosely based on those featured in the 1922 German original, albeit with some changes that make the story more unique. This includes an updated design for Count Orlok, who sports a bit of hair and a large mustache as opposed to his original pale, sharp-faced design from the first movie. Eggers pulled from folklore to differentiate his design, which has since left an impression on audiences.

Now, HalloweenYrRnd has posted a silly image depicting what Eggers’ werewolf design in his next movie, Werwulf, will look like, basing it off Count Orlok’s Nosferatu redesign. The image shows David from 1981’s An American Werewolf in London mid-transforming into the тιтular monster, now sporting a giant, pH๏τoshopped mustache. The facial hair is perfectly fit for the image, making the goofy prediction even funnier. Check out HalloweenYrRnd’s art below:

What This Hilarious Werewolf Design Means For Robert Eggers’ Next Movie

Werwulf Probably Won’t Feature A Mustachioed Monster

Count Orlok’s redesign was primarily informed by folklore, showing the director wants to have movie monsters that accurately reflect the time periods his stories are set during. This means Werwulf probably isn’t going to feature a wolfman with a mustache, as funny as that approach would be. Eggers’ best movies have been accurate period pieces with supernatural elements, meaning the werewolf film’s 13th century England setting will inform how the monster’s design actually comes about. Yet the art still emphasizes how accuracy can’t sacrifice the scares of typical werewolves either.

While there aren’t many concrete details about Eggers’ Werwulf, the movie is set to feature Old English dialogue, including translations for those unfamiliar with the dialect. It will also be co-written by Sjón, who previously collaborated with the director on The Northman. Even though it would be funny to see a mustachioed werewolf in the movie, it appears this one will be a very serious film, much like his previous ones, offering a gripping tale of terror surrounding the тιтular monster’s mythos. It’s also bound to leave deep audience impressions, much like the end of Nosferatu and his other movies.

Our Take On The Funny Werewolf Fan Design For Robert Eggers’ Next Movie

It Offers Levity Surrounding The Horror Movie’s Development

Lily-Rose Depp looks terrified in Nosferatu.

With Werwulf only recently announced, this image offers some comedic levity surrounding the film’s development. However, given Eggers‘ affinity for dark stories about human suffering, there are bound to be some terrifying sequences in the film that continue to push the boundaries of modern horror movies. With the director only just starting development on the movie, though, it will be quite some time before the full, true design of his werewolf is given a spotlight.
