Ted Lᴀsso Star’s Comedy Sequel With 36% Rotten Tomatoes Score Finds Streaming Success 11 Years Later

Ted Lᴀsso is one of Apple TV+’s most successful shows to date. It won 13 Emmys across three seasons, and was nominated for several more that it did not win. Ted Lᴀsso also received great reviews from both critics and audiences, getting fresh Rotten Tomatoes scores every season. The overall series holds a 90% Tomatometer from critics and an 85% score from audiences. Ted Lᴀsso season 3 was considered the end by some series creators, but the show has still remained open for season 4.

Ted Lᴀsso has an ensemble cast, but at the heart of it all is Jason Sudeikis, who won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series twice for the role. While the unskilled football coach has become his most celebrated role, the comedic actor had a career long before this. This has included roles in the film side of the industry, where Sudeikis has acted in movies such as We’re the Millers, Colossal, and Epic. One of Sudeikis’ comedy films is now getting a new life on streaming 11 years later.

Horrible Bosses 2 Is Doing Well On Streaming

The Movie Got Bad Reviews

Horrible Bosses 2 is now succeeding on streaming. A sequel to 2011’s Horrible Bosses, Horrible Bosses 2 featured a large ensemble cast including Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, Chris Pine, Christoph Waltz, Jonathan Banks, Keegan-Michael Key, and Sam Richardson. Unlike the acclaimed Ted Lᴀsso, Horrible Bosses 2 was not well-received in theaters, getting a rotten 36% among critics and an only marginally higher 47% with audiences.

Per FlixPatrol, Horrible Bosses is getting more audience appreciation in 2025 as the movie finds success on streaming. Horrible Bosses 2 has made it onto Prime Video’s top 10 movies in the United States today (January 14), claiming the no. 9 spot. It beat out the Emilia Clarke-led romance movie Me Before You, but came in behind The Fall Guy, Tag, In the Land of Saints And Sinners, The Creator, A Quiet Place: Day One, The Equalizer 2, Red One, and The Equalizer.

Our Take On Horrible Bosses 2’s Rising Success

The Stellar Cast Is Likely Attributable To This Success

While it is hard to say what exactly has made Horrible Bosses 2 rise to fame again years later, the talented cast likely had something to do with it. Day has remained in the public eye through his role in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and behind-the-scenes work on Mythic Quest. Bateman was in Ozark among other projects, thus also remaining fairly well-known by the mᴀsses. This strong cast is likely what is encouraging audiences to watch Horrible Bosses 2 despite its poor reviews.
