Jason Statham’s New Action Movie Is Even More Exciting After His $153 Million Hit From Last Year

Having appeared in major franchises such as The Expendables, The Transporter, and Fast & Furious, Jason Statham is one of the most iconic action stars around, and his upcoming film looks extremely exciting after his $153 million hit from last year. Statham’s ability to combine comedy and action over the decades made him a huge name in Hollywood, with his openness to taking risks adding to his reputation. Although his work in established IPs has been great, it’s his willingness to tackle new projects with fun premises that have made Statham so popular among cinema’s ever-changing audience.

With his stock remaining high, the actor’s only film from last year wound up being a box office hit while earning a mostly positive reception among critics and viewers. In addition, Statham”s The Beekeeper became a streaming success on Prime Video, making what should have been a relatively quiet 2024 a year to remember for the Englishman. The Beekeeper‘s fun premise and high-quality action scenes cemented its status as one of the most underrated cinematic experiences of 2024, and with Statham about to star in another exciting action movie, his performance only makes his next project more exciting.

Jason Statham & David Ayer Made The Beekeeper Great – Now They Can Do The Same In A Working Man

Statham & Ayer Teaming Up Again Means They Can Replicate The Beekeeper’s Success

Having teamed up with David Ayer for 2024’s The Beekeeper, Statham is set to work with the director once again in A Working Man. Starring as a skilled ᴀssᴀssin returning to action fit Statham’s skills perfectly, and the world that Ayer was able to craft in The Beekeeper didn’t disappoint. Audiences have since been desperate for a sequel and although The Beekeeper 2 hasn’t been officially announced, there is heavy expectation it will be confirmed in the future. Until then, Statham and Ayer can hopefully repeat history, as A Working Man has all the credentials to replicate their previous success.

The actor will once again play a highly efficient killer going from a working-class environment into the world of crime, this time to take down human traffickers. Given the movie is based on Chuck Dixon’s highly touted Levon’s Trade novel, the plot shouldn’t be an issue, meaning as long as Ayer can get the tone and setting right, the project has the potential to mimic The Beekeeper‘s achievements. A Working Man should also see Statham reach a $2 billion milestone as a leading man, adding to the anticipation of the 2025 film set to debut in March.

A Working Man’s Story & Style Isn’t Too Far Removed From The Beekeeper

Both Movies Seem To Have Some Major Similarities

Despite having some notable differences, A Working Man and The Beekeeper do share a lot of similarities that suggest Statham will thrive in his next film. They both revolve around the main character being an ex-marksman who attempts to live a quiet life before being pulled back into a more action-packed setting. Each project puts Statham on a collision course with a secretive organization who are up to no good, and his character is more than capable of becoming a one-man army that takes down numerous enemies in the pursuit of justice.

The high-octane sequences and creative action hint at A Working Man‘s style heavily resembling Jason Statham and David Ayer’s latest project, once again highlighting their likeness.

While it’s unclear exactly what sort of changes A Working Man will make to the book, the movie looks like it will be every bit as brutal as the source material. The high-octane sequences and creative action hint at A Working Man‘s style heavily resembling Jason Statham and David Ayer’s latest project, once again highlighting their likeness. Therefore, comparisons look like they’ll be unavoidable, but if the 2025 flick can match The Beekeeper’s qualities while forging its own idenтιтy, the Levon’s Trade adaptation should be a major hit, and it could even surpᴀss the duo’s 2024 success.
