Flight Risk is directed by Mel Gibson, marking the first film he’s directed since 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge.

When Will Flight Risk Release On Streaming?
Lionsgate’s Streaming Future Is Unclear
Lionsgate has yet to confirm when Flight Risk will be released on streaming. Normally, it would be somewhat easy to predict a potential streaming release for the film, as Lionsgate’s movies typically went to Starz within a certain range due to a deal between the two companies. This changed in late 2024 and leaves Flight Risk‘s streaming release date and platform up in the air. Lionsgate struck a deal with Peacock in 2022 and started to bring some 2022 тιтles there in 2024, but newer films have yet to debut there.
Starz and Lionsgate moved towards a split in November 2024
Lionsgate likes longer gaps between theaters and streaming than most studios; at least, that’s how the studio operated with Starz. If similar gaps are used for Peacock, Flight Risk projects to hit streaming in July 2025. There could be a longer gap, too, depending on what happens with some other previous Lionsgate movies.
When Will Flight Risk Release On Digital?
A Digital Release Could Come Quick
Flight Risk does not have a confirmed digital release date, but Lionsgate typically does not wait that long to make this transition. The studio has a history of making its movies available to buy or rent on PVOD in less than 30 days in most cases. This should mean that Flight Risk‘s digital release date could come in February 2025. The only way this will not happen is if the film really does well at the box office and Lionsgate extends its theatrical exclusivity to maximize Flight Risk‘s earnings.
