Unstoppable chronicles the remarkable true story of Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and faced challenges both on and off the wrestling mat before becoming the 2011 NCAA wrestling champion in the 125-pound division. Directed by Oscar-winning editor William Goldenberg in his feature film directorial debut, Unstoppable is based on Robles’ 2012 book Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion. Goldenberg has been nominated for five Best Editing Oscars (The Insider, Seabiscuit, Zero Dark Thirty, The Imitation Game), winning for 2012’s Argo. Robles also appears in the film as his own double in certain wrestling scenes.

Unstoppable portrays Anthony Robles’ impressive wrestling career as an undefeated high school champion, going an incredible 96-0 as a junior and senior Arizona state champion. After getting overlooked by his top college choices, mainly the University of Iowa, Robles walked on the Arizona State University wrestling team and went on to become the 2011 NCAA national champion in the 125-pound division with an undefeated record of 36-0. The film also dives into his personal and family struggles with his abusive stepfather and financial hardships.
