The Ridiculous Amount ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine’s Box Office Beat The Previous ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Movies By Truly Proves How Special Its Success Really Was

ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine’s unbelievable box office numbers have cemented the film’s place as a truly special success, both for Marvel and for the film industry in general. The concept of the project garnered plenty of anticipation from the moment it was announced that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine would return to the screen. Coupled with the fact that the previous ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool films are fan favorites, it seemed obvious that the last in the trilogy would do big numbers at the box office.

Even with the high expectations set for the film, no one could’ve ever predicted just how successful ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine would actually end up being. Grossing just over $1.3 billion at the worldwide box officeᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine was one of two films to hit the billion mark in 2024. It was the most successful superhero film and second-highest-grossing film of the year. The phenomenal numbers are something Marvel should be proud of. For a studio that is no stranger to big blockbuster hits, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine was a unique pop culture moment.

ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine Beat The Previous ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Movies’ Box Office By A Staggering Amount

It makes sense that ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine made more money at the box office than both of its predecessors, but it’s surprising just how big the margin is. ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool and ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool 2 made $781 million and $786 million at the box office respectively which are both pretty big numbers in their own rights, especially considering that the first two films weren’t part of the official MCU. These numbers put both films in the top 30 of highest-grossing superhero films of all time, as well as two of the highest-grossing opening weekends for a superhero film.

However, ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine’s impressive $1.3 billion box office is nearly double the amount that each of the preceding films made. It’s an incredible feat for a series to have such a jump in success, and even more impressive that the movie that managed to do that was the third in a trilogy. Series can have a hard time maintaining their audience as interest tapers out towards the conclusion, but ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool’s Marvel history and his solo trilogy managed to find the solution to that.

Why ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine’s Box Office Did So Much Better Than The Previous ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool Movies
