In a move that has sent shockwaves through global capitals, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy claims to have successfully launched a swarm of “kamikaze” drones targeting the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72).
According to Iranian state media, the drones were deployed after the U.S. carrier strike group approached within 340 kilometers of Iran’s maritime borders in the Gulf of Oman.

Tehran ᴀsserts that multiple drones breached the carrier’s defensive perimeter, claiming direct hits on the flight deck. While the U.S.
Pentagon has yet to confirm the extent of any damage, the IRGC has characterized the operation as a “crushing warning” against foreign military presence in Iranian-adjacent waters.
The reported attack marks a terrifying escalation at the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most sensitive energy chokepoint through which 20% of the globe’s oil pᴀsses daily.
Military analysts warn that if these strikes are confirmed, the “rules of engagement” in the region have fundamentally shifted.

The presence of the USS Abraham Lincoln was intended to serve as a deterrent and to ensure the freedom of navigation; however, this direct confrontation suggests that deterrent has failed.
Global oil markets have already begun to react, with prices surging amid fears that a full-scale naval war could lead to a complete blockade of the Strait,
crippling international energy supplies and triggering a worldwide economic crisis.
