Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said their naval forces fired four cruise missiles toward the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, which they said was operating about 250 to 300 km off Iran’s coast near Chabahar.

Guards spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini said the carrier then moved toward the southeastern Indian Ocean after the missiles were launched.

The selection of a new supreme leader will not take long, a member of Iran’s ᴀssembly of Experts said on Tuesday, days after Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli airstrikes.

The ᴀssembly of Experts has sworn to choose the next leader based on religious criteria and its own judgment, without regard to individual preferences or political factions, Ali Moalemi said.
He said there was no cause for concern, and the body would select a person similar to Khamenei.
