On March 24, 2026, at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, California, Marines and sailors from the 2nd Marine Logistics Group participated in an extremely rigorous acclimation hike as part of Mountain Training Exercise 1-26.
With backpacks heavily laden with ammunition, weapons, and logistical equipment, the soldiers of Combat Logistics Battalion 24 (CLB-24) undertook a long march across the rugged, high-alтιтude, and thin-air terrain characteristic of the Bridgeport region. This essential exercise helped them acclimatize to austere terrain and high elevations, reduce the risk of alтιтude sickness, build physical endurance, and maintain combat performance under reduced oxygen levels.
Every heavy step on the steep slopes, every labored breath in the cold air, was a real-world test of human limits. Marines and Sailors must overcome fatigue, regulate their breathing, manage energy, and maintain high team spirit – all in preparation for real-world logistics missions in high-alтιтude or other challenging environments.

Acclimatization hike training not only strengthens physical fitness but also forges resilience and adaptability – two crucial elements for the survival of logistics forces on the battlefield. Thanks to this, the 2nd Marine Logistics Group continues to enhance its ability to provide timely and effective support to combat units in all types of operations.
With the spirit of Semper Fidelis, members of the 2nd MLG are constantly honing themselves to become the strongest, most flexible, and reliable logistics force. Every meter of mountain climbing today is a crucial step in preparing them to face any future challenge, whether in high mountains or any harsh terrain in the world.
