On March 25, 2026, in the strategically volatile waters of the Red Sea, the U.S. Navy’s Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Delbert D. Black conducted a routine joint naval exercise with the Israeli Navy’s INS Eilat.
Following a scheduled port visit, the two modern ships collaborated closely on sea exercises, including joint maneuvering drills, real-time intelligence sharing, and anti-submarine and air defense tactical training. This was not just a routine exercise, but a vivid demonstration of the deepening military partnership between the U.S. Fifth Fleet and the Israeli Navy.
With its modern design, advanced Aegis radar system, and ability to carry a wide range of guided missiles, the USS Delbert D. Black represents the multi-purpose power of the U.S. Navy in the Middle East. Meanwhile, INS Eilat – one of Israel’s most modern destroyers – also demonstrated high combat capabilities and extensive experience in the challenging environment of the Red Sea.
This joint exercise further affirms the strong commitment of both countries to maintaining maritime security, protecting vital sea lanes, and being ready to address any common threats. In the context of the still volatile security situation in the Red Sea, the seamless coordination between USS Delbert D. Black and INS Eilat sends a clear message: the US-Israel military alliance is strong and ready to act at any time.
This is part of a series of regular cooperative activities between the US Fifth Fleet and allied forces, contributing to maintaining stability and effective deterrence in the region. The event not only enhances joint combat capabilities but also strengthens the long-standing strategic partnership between the two leading navies.
A powerful statement: When the United States and Israel stand together in the Red Sea, regional peace and security are more firmly protected than ever before.
