In the secretive world of military affairs, a single move by an aircraft carrier is enough to send shockwaves through the Middle East and the world. The USS Abraham Lincoln – a living symbol of American naval power – is operating outside the Strait of Hormuz, instead of diving deep into the Persian Gulf as expected. Why? Because a large-scale bunker-buster attack is being prepared, and this time it’s not a drill.
“NOT A DRILL.”
Those two ᴅᴇᴀᴅly words were just broadcast from the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln. Not a false alarm. Not a game. This is a real signal that the F-15E Strike Eagle – the legendary “attack hawk” – is fully equipped with GBU-57 Mᴀssive Ordnance Penetrator submarine-launched bombs and is awaiting final orders.
Why is the aircraft carrier “avoiding” the Persian Gulf?
The Strait of Hormuz is not an ordinary waterway. It is a strategic bottleneck through which 20% of the world’s oil flows every day. At its narrowest point, the area is less than 40km wide, easily becoming a death trap for any aircraft carrier. A mine, an anti-ship missile from the Iranian coast, or a suicide attack by high-speed boats… would be enough to turn the mᴀssive, multi-billion dollar ship into a pile of scrap metal at the bottom of the sea.
Therefore, the US chose a safe but extremely dangerous approach: keeping the USS Lincoln outside the Persian Gulf, using the airspace and distance to have F-15E Strike Eagles take off from the ship’s deck, plunging into Iranian territory at Mach 2.5, carrying bombs capable of penetrating dozens of meters of reinforced concrete to destroy the deepest underground bunkers – where Iran hides its nuclear program and ballistic missile stockpiles.
The ᴅᴇᴀᴅly twist
If the order were given, within hours, the underground bunkers that Iran spent decades building could collapse like paper houses. An unnamed defense official admitted: “This is no ordinary airstrike. This is an attempt to completely eliminate Iran’s nuclear capabilities in a fatal blow.”
But the risks are also enormous. Iran has declared it will retaliate with “full force” if any of its infrastructure is touched. The Strait of Hormuz could be completely blockaded in minutes. Oil prices would skyrocket to $200 a barrel. The global economy would be shaken.
The most shocking question right now isn’t “Does the U.S. dare to do it?”
It’s: If the F-15E drops the bombs, will this be the turning point that escalates the Iran conflict into an uncontrollable regional – or even global – conflict?
The USS Abraham Lincoln is there. The F-15E is ready. And the world is waiting for only one order: “Execute.”
