In a ferocious display of American close-air support power, U.S. A-10 Warthog attack jets have unleashed devastating strikes on Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) speed boats in the Strait of Hormuz, dramatically shifting the balance in the critical naval theater.
Flying low and aggressive, the heavily armored A-10s tore through swarms of Iranian fast-attack vessels with their signature 30mm GAU-8 Avenger cannons and precision missiles. Multiple IRGC boats were obliterated in spectacular fireballs, with thick black smoke rising over the narrow waterway as U.S. forces systematically dismantled Iran’s naval presence.

Pentagon sources confirm the operation is part of the intensified “Operation Epic Fury,” aimed at permanently neutralizing Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping and enforce any blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC has reacted with visible shock and rage. A senior commander under Mojtaba Khamenei’s command admitted heavy losses, warning: “The American ‘flying pigs’ have attacked our boats. This is a temporary advantage. We are preparing a response that will make them regret entering our waters. We still have not used our best and ᴅᴇᴀᴅliest missiles.”
Retired U.S. General Jack Keane praised the A-10 operations, stating: “The Warthog is the perfect weapon for this environment. Its survivability and mᴀssive firepower are proving decisive against Iran’s swarm tactics. This is a big turn in the naval war.”

Global oil prices reacted with immediate relief, easing slightly from recent record highs, though they remain extremely elevated above $34,000 per barrel as markets remain cautious about possible Iranian retaliation.
With A-10 Warthogs now dominating the skies over the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s naval forces taking heavy losses, the war has taken a significant turn in favor of U.S. and allied forces. However, with Tehran promising a major response and both sides refusing to back down, the question remains: Is this the beginning of the end for Iran’s resistance in the Gulf, or the spark that ignites an even ᴅᴇᴀᴅlier phase of the conflict?
