USS Tripoli Deploys 2,200 Marines To Gulf Amid Iran Tensions Over Kharg Island Oil Hub | US-Iran War.hl

In a major escalation of military pressure, the USS Tripoli has begun deploying over 2,200 U.S. Marines into the Persian Gulf as tensions explode over Iran’s critical Kharg Island oil hub. The amphibious ᴀssault ship, supported by attack helicopters and escorted by destroyers, is positioning forces to potentially seize or neutralize the island — Iran’s most important oil export terminal, responsible for the majority of its crude shipments.

Pentagon sources say the deployment is part of a broader strategy to break Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz and prevent Tehran from using Kharg Island as leverage in the ongoing war. The move significantly increases the risk of direct ground combat between U.S. and Iranian forces.

The IRGC has reacted with immediate fury. A senior commander under Mojtaba Khamenei’s command warned: “The Americans are sending more troops toward Kharg Island. They are walking into a death trap. If they dare touch Iranian soil, we will turn the entire Gulf into a sea of fire. We still have not used our best and ᴅᴇᴀᴅliest missiles.”

Retired U.S. General Jack Keane described the operation as “high-risk but necessary,” stating: “Kharg Island is the crown jewel of Iran’s oil empire. Controlling or neutralizing it would deliver a knockout blow to their economy.”

Global oil prices have reacted with total panic, skyrocketing past $29,800 per barrel — an all-time record — as traders fear an imminent battle for the island could completely halt Iranian oil exports for months.

Is the United States preparing for a direct ᴀssault on Iranian territory to end the war? With 2,200 Marines now heading toward Kharg Island and Iran vowing total resistance, the conflict stands on the edge of a full-scale invasion scenario. The world is watching anxiously as this dangerous gamble could determine the outcome of the entire US-Iran war.
