Iran Launches 60 Drones at Saudi Arabia | Gulf Air Defenses on High Alert.hl

In a major new escalation, Iran has launched a large-scale drone attack involving over 60 UAVs targeting multiple sites in Saudi Arabia. Saudi air defenses are on maximum alert, with intense interception activity reported over the kingdom’s Eastern Province and near critical energy installations. Explosions and flashes were seen in the sky as Saudi Patriot systems engaged the incoming swarm.

Iranian state media and the IRGC have confirmed the operation, describing it as part of “Mojtaba’s ongoing revenge campaign” against Gulf states supporting the US and Israel. A senior IRGC commander stated: “Saudi Arabia chose to stand with our enemies. Tonight, 60 drones delivered our message. We still have not used our best and ᴅᴇᴀᴅliest missiles. The Gulf will not know peace while it hosts American aggression.”

The attack comes amid the rapidly widening US-Iran-Israel war. Iran has already struck Tel Aviv, Haifa’s port and refinery complex, U.S. bases across the region, and even attempted long-range strikes on Diego Garcia. Saudi Arabia has been increasingly drawn into the conflict due to its hosting of American forces and support for Israel.

Retired U.S. General Jack Keane called the drone swarm “a serious and calculated provocation,” warning that Iran is deliberately expanding the war to fracture the Gulf alliance and pressure global energy markets.

Global oil prices reacted with immediate panic, surging past $29,200 per barrel as traders fear further attacks on Saudi energy infrastructure could trigger a total collapse in Gulf oil production.

As Saudi air defenses continue to light up the night sky and the region braces for retaliation, the world faces a sobering reality: Iran is no longer limiting its strikes to Israel and American forces. By targeting Saudi Arabia with a mᴀssive 60-drone wave, Tehran is signaling that the entire Gulf is now a battlefield.

How much longer can the Gulf states endure these attacks before they are forced to respond directly? The war that began as a confrontation between Iran and Israel is now threatening to consume the entire region.
