The elephants strained under the command — but the rock didn’t budge. Not an inch. The attempt was abandoned, and the legend deepened.

Now it stands as both guardian and mystery, watched by generations who come to touch its base, to pH๏τograph its enormity, to wonder how something so heavy could float upon the earth so lightly. Children climb around it, lovers whisper beneath its shadow, and pilgrims see in it the quiet hand of Krishna himself.

For twelve years she might return to this place, watching how the light changes, how the seasons wear the surface smooth, how birds nest in its cracks, and how it never, ever moves.
