Spider-Man: Brand New Day will finally bring Tom Holland back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While there are only a few upcoming MCU movies in 2026, one of the most highly anticipated installments next year is the actor’s fourth solo film, after having been absent from the franchise since 2021.
With principal pH๏τography still underway, @UnBoxPHD got the first look at Sadie Sink, as she is seen on the set together with Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton. The image sees the Stranger Things star covered up in a beige hoodie while chatting with the filmmaker.

Holland, who has resumed filming after he suffered a mild concussion on September 21, 2025, was also spotted as he was shooting a scene in costume while being on wires. Sink boarded the project on March 12, 2025.
While set pH๏τos have revealed the first look at her on set, it’s unclear who the 23-year-old actress is actually playing in the film, as Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have been keeping details under wraps. There have been various rumors about who she is possibly portraying, including X-Men’s Jean Grey, as a reboot for the mutants is in the works for the MCU timeline.
In an interview with ᴅᴇᴀᴅline on May 23, 2025, Sink kept things cryptic with her response when asked about the character rumors for the Phase 6 installment. She stated, “I see a lot of rumors too. They’ve been really cool to read. I love the Marvel Universe. I mean they’re awesome rumors.”
The Spider-Man: Brand New Day cast has also added Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman in mystery roles. Marvin Jones III will bring Marvel’s Tombstone to life in the 2026 entry, after having voiced the comic book villain in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Jon Bernthal is also finally making his MCU film debut as he will reprise the role of Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher, following years of playing him in Daredevil, Daredevil: Born Again, and his own series for Netflix. The actor will also have an MCU Special Presentation arriving in 2026, although no release date for it has been set yet by Disney+.
Holland’s movie will be the final Phase 6 film before Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, with the 2027 film set to finish The Multiverse Saga, although it’s unclear if the British star will be in either project. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will open in theaters on July 31, 2026.
