Sinners Star Joins The Cast Of The Social Network 2

The Social Reckoning, the loose sequel to David Fincher’s seminal biopic The Social Network, continues to add to its star-studded cast, this time gaining one of the stars of arguably the best film of the year. The Social Network‘s original writer, Aaron Sorkin, is returning and stepping into the role of director to craft this companion piece.

The Social Network focused on the founding of Facebook and lawsuits in its wake. Now, The Social Reckoning will tell the story behind The Wall Street Journal’s The Facebook Files series, wherein Facebook engineer Frances Haugen worked with WSJ journalist Jeff Horwitz to expose the company’s awareness of the harmful effects of social media.

The Social Reckoning‘s cast was previously confirmed to include Mikey Madison (as Haugen), Jeremy Allen White (as Horwitz), Jeremy Strong replacing Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg, and Bill Burr. Eisenberg’s co-star, Andrew Garfield, is also not returning as Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin. Now ᴅᴇᴀᴅline reports that Wunmi Mosaku has joined the follow-up film in an unknown role.

By now, many movie fans know Mosaku best as Annie in Sinners, a Hoodoo priestess with crucial knowledge about vampires. While Mosaku is campaigning for Best Supporting Actress at the 2026 Oscars, she previously won a BAFTA for Our Loved Boy. Her other significant credits include ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine, His House, Loki, Black Mirror, and Lovecraft Country.

Meanwhile, Mosaku’s new co-stars are all major rising talents in the industry. After roles in films including Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Scream, Madison cemented her A-lister status with last year’s Best Lead Actress win for Anora. White and Strong are both first known as television actors, the former for The Bear and the latter for Succession.

However, White is starring in this year’s highly anticipated Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, while Strong secured a Best Supporting Actor nomination last year for The Apprentice (losing to his Succession co-star Kieran Culkin). These actors were already bringing a lot of attention to The Social Reckoning before Mosaku, coming from the mᴀssive success of Sinners, elevated it even further.

Though it is unknown who Mosaku will play in this film, other Facebook engineers and WSJ journalists will presumably appear in the story, and she could be very impactful in even a small role. The Social Reckoning is being produced by Sorkin, Todd Black, Peter Rice, and Stuart Besser, and will arrive in theaters on October 9, 2026, 16 years after its predecessor.
