Mark Wahlberg Is Back In Action In The Family Plan 2 Trailer

Mark Wahlberg returns to action with his upcoming movie, and the new trailer is gearing fans up for its release.

Apple TV has officially released the trailer for its upcoming heist comedy, The Family Plan 2, which will premiere exclusively on the streaming service on November 21. The sequel follows 2023’s The Family Plan and sees Wahlberg once again teaming up with Michelle Monaghan, as well as Kit Harington, Zoe Colletti, and Van Crosby for another wild, action-packed family adventure.

In The Family Plan 2, Wahlberg reprises his role as former government operative Dan Morgan, who is forced to go on the run with his family after a sudden attack. Pursued across the country by relentless enemies, Morgan must confront the secrets of his past to keep his loved ones safe. The film is directed by Simon Cellan-Jones, who previously worked with Wahlberg on Arthur the King.

2023’s The Family Plan only received a 29% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, marking it as officially “Rotten”. Critics noted its potential despite calling it lackluster. Despite the harsh rating, the movie became one of Apple TV’s most-watched releases, prompting the streamer to greenlight a sequel that looks to deliver higher stakes and bigger laughs.

Wahlberg continues to focus on streaming projects after decades as a box-office powerhouse with films like The Departed, Ted, and Father Stu. His recent roles include Play Dirty, with The Family Plan 2 marking his latest collaboration with Apple TV.

Joining Wahlberg once again is Monaghan, fresh off her acclaimed role in The White Lotus Season 3. The actress, known for Mission: Impossible – Fallout and MaXXXine, brings her signature action-star presence to the sequel. Game of Thrones star Kit Harington joins the cast as the film’s villain, described as a “knife-wielding maniac.”

The Family Plan 2 will be available to stream exclusively on Apple TV on November 21, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. A subscription to the streaming service is required to watch Wahlberg’s next action-packed adventure.
