Taylor Swift Announces New Version Of The Eras Tour Movie Coming To Disney+

Taylor Swift has officially announced a new version of her movie, The Eras Tour, which will stream on Disney+.

Swift announced the news during her appearance on Good Morning America on October 13. The 35-year-old music artist revealed she’s giving fans behind-the-scenes access to the Eras tour that they wouldn’t have seen with her first concert film for this worldwide tour.

In a post on her social media, Swift shared the official trailer, which shows what fans can expect from the upcoming release and stated, “It was the End of an Era, and we knew it.” She continued by adding:

We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show will arrive on Disney+ in December with footage from her last performance in Vancouver on December 8, 2023. The two-year tour grossed $2 billion worldwide, and Swift performed for over 10 million fans across 149 shows on five continents. The singer even boosted local communities, including a $300 million boost to London’s economy, thanks to Swift’s eight performances at Wembley Stadium.

The announcement follows her latest film, Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, which outgrossed major Hollywood movies upon its release. The movie earned over $50 million during its limited theatrical run. The Official Release Party of a Showgirl featured behind-the-scenes footage and music videos to accompany her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The Eras Tour: The Final Show will also be released alongside a six-part docuseries that shows her time during the Eras Tour, which will be available to stream on December 12 on Disney+.

Swift’s first release of her film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, broke multiple records when it was released in 2023. Most notably, it became the highest-grossing concert movie of all time with over $261 million. The new film will be made to also include her creation of her album The Tortured Poets Department, which wasn’t released at the time of the first film’s release, but was being made while she was on tour.

The Eras Tour: The Final Show is directed by Glenn Weiss and produced by the artist’s own production company, Taylor Swift Productions.
