Ana De Armas Suits Up As Wonder Woman After James Gunn’s New DCU Movie Update In DC Art

Ana de Armas shows that she is the perfect pick for the new Wonder Woman in DC Universe art. When it comes to Diana Prince, the new DCU will have to cast someone to replace Gal Gadot in the role for the heroine’s upcoming solo movie. After not being part of the DCU’s slate reveal, Wonder Woman is coming back.

The DCU Wonder Woman movie is being written by Supergirl scribe Ana Nogueira. James Gunn has said that as soon as the script is finished, the film will go into production. After Gunn recently teased progress on two DC movies, many believe that they could be Batman and Wonder Woman’s DCU reboots. As such, Diana Prince casting rumors have been flying as of late.

On Instagram, @eddiewhittonjr shared a reel of what Ana de Armas could look like as the DCU Wonder Woman.

The actress dons a similar armored look to that of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the DCEU. However, the fan art gives de Armas’ Wonder Woman suit more golden elements. The video also shows other key parts of her suit, such as the iconic tiara and bracelets, complete with Wonder Woman withstanding bullets.

What The New Ana De Armas DCU Wonder Woman Art Means

Ana de Armas has become one of the most popular fancasts to play Wonder Woman in James Gunn’s DC Universe. Given her past projects, there is no doubt that she would be able to pull off the role. With action-packed films like No Time to Die and Ballerina under her belt, de Armas is ready to become a superhero.

Her charismatic performance in movies like Knives Out also helps exemplify how she would be able to bring out different sides of Wonder Woman beyond her warrior persona. However, there might be a couple of problems making it hard for her to be the DCU Wonder Woman. At 37, the actress is just 3 years younger than Gal Gadot.

She would be a bit outside the age range of Superman actor David Corenswet, who is 32. Additionally, Ana de Armas was asked about playing Wonder Woman in the past. She sH๏τ it down, claiming that Gal Gadot was doing a good job. While the DCEU actress is no longer in the role, de Armas might not have had a change of heart since then.

Our Take On The New Ana De Armas DCU Wonder Woman Art

While far from official, the new Ana de Armas Wonder Woman art is good for those wanting to see what the actress might look like as Diana Prince. To me, there is no question that de Armas looks the part and has the acting skills to make the DCU Wonder Woman even better than Gal Gadot’s.

With James Gunn’s latest comments about two scripts he is “hoping to take to the next level,” I’m confident those films will turn out to be Batman’s The Brave and the Bold and the Wonder Woman reboot.

As such, any new fan art of Ana de Armas as the DCU Wonder Woman that comes out in the next few months should help keep her in the conversation ahead of casting, which could happen sooner than expected.
