Family Plan 2 Images Reveal First Look At Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Monaghan’s Return In Action Sequel

After setting streaming records for Apple TV+ with 2023’s The Family Plan, Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan have gotten the family back together, as the first look images for the sequel, The Family Plan 2, have been shared.

Apple TV+ released the first batch of images, along with the official synopsis and full cast for the film, on Thursday, October 9, ahead of the movie’s November 21 debut exclusively on the streaming platform. The images see Wahlberg’s Dan Morgan, a former ᴀssᴀssin now just trying to live a normal life with his wife and kids, as they head out on a European holiday vacation, though Dan’s past catches up with him.

Here is the synopsis for the movie:

In “The Family Plan 2,” it’s the holiday season and Dan (Mark Wahlberg) has planned the perfect vacation for his wife Jessica (Michelle Monaghan) and their kids to celebrate overseas—until a mysterious figure from his past (Kit Harington) shows up with unfinished business. An international game of cat-and-mouse ensues as Dan and his family battle, bicker, and bond their way through a series of bank heists, holiday hijinks, and car chases amid scenic European terrain.

In addition to Wahlberg, Monaghan, and Harrington, The Family Plan 2 stars Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Peter Lindsey, Theodore Lindsey, and Reda Elazoura. Simon Cellan Jones returns to direct the sequel after helming the first film.

While critics were not fans of The Family Plan – the movie is “Rotten” on Rotten Tomatoes – the movie was a popular watch for Apple TV+ subscribers, as evident by it being the most-watched movie on the streaming service at the time of its release.

The Family Plan is streaming exclusively on Apple TV+

Though The Family Plan 2 will release just about a week before Thanksgiving, it will be the streamer’s big holiday-themed movie this year. Apple TV+’s previous Christmas content includes 2022’s musical Spirited; Christmas-set episodes of their favorite TV shows, including Ted Lᴀsso; and being the streaming home of A Charlie Brown Christmas.

The release of The Family Plan 2 will mark the third 2025 that Wahlberg has starred in, following Flight Risk and Play Dirty. Monaghan, meanwhile, is coming off her role in The White Lotus Season 3. As for Harrington, he was most recently seen in the Netflix series, Too Much.

You will need an Apple TV+ subscription if you want to watch The Family Plan 2 when it premieres on the streamer on November 21.
