Taylor Swift Took Just 3 Days To Outgross 12+ Of Hollywood’s 2025 Movies

Pop superstar Taylor Swift is dominating the global box office once again with her new special presentation, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl. Unlike her previous record-smashing blockbuster, 2023’s The Eras Tour, this release is not a concert documentary but a collection of behind-the-scenes footage and promotional material for her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.

Per Variety, as of Sunday morning, Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl is projected to end the weekend with a 3-day box office total of $46 million worldwide. This comprises $33 million from domestic theaters and an additional $13 million from international markets.

The special event presentation has thus taken just one weekend to surge up the global box office chart for 2025, making it the 47th highest-grossing movie of the year at the time of writing.

It has handily outgrossed the entire runs of more than a dozen of 2025’s Hollywood wide releases, including the franchise movies M3GAN 2.0 ($39.1 million) and Nobody 2 ($39.4 million), as well as the horror тιтles Wolf Man ($34.1 million), Heart Eyes ($33.1 million), and The Woman in the Yard ($23.3 million).

The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will not have any other opportunities to shine, as it is a three-day-only release that is directly tied to the premiere of Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl on October 3.

Thus, it will not have the same multi-week theatrical opportunities as The Eras Tour, which eventually grossed $261.6 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing concert film of all time. However, Showgirl‘s performance is impressive in and of itself, especially considering the fact that it was only announced two weeks before it debuted in theaters.

Below, see a breakdown of the biggest releases that it has surpᴀssed in spite of the brevity of its theatrical run:

This level of box office dominance (which includes earning Swift her second No. 1 тιтle at the domestic box office after The Eras Tour) underscores the fact that the pop star remains a major draw in theaters as well as in concert venues and the digital and physical music marketplaces.

While the new Taylor Swift album will not be accompanied by a tour, which could prevent her from having another sH๏τ at a No. 1 concert documentary in the near future, it seems probable that the recording artist will continue to put similar special presentations out in theaters, considering how lucrative it has been both for her and for the box office.
