Jason Statham has a new action movie, Shelter, set to premiere in the first few weeks of 2026. Last seen on screen in 2025’s A Working Man, Statham remains one of the biggest action stars in Hollywood, having starred in popular franchises like The Fast and the Furious, The Expendables, The Meg, and his latest franchise, The Beekeeper.
Shelter is set to premiere on January 30, 2026. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, whose previous movies include Angel Has Fallen, Greenland, and the upcoming Greenland 2: Migration, the movie follows a reclusive man living in a remote house by the sea who rescues a young girl from drowning. However, that act sets off a series of events that brings violence to his doorstep, forcing him to confront his past.
Bodhi Rae, Naomi Acke, and Bill Nighy also star in Shelter.
Benjamin Kramer, who is the U.S. distribution president for Black Bear Pictures, which is releasing Shelter, teased the movie by saying:
“Jason is an icon who continues to be at the top of his game. Bringing him together with Ric, another distinguished force in the action space, along with a gripping story and an exceptional group of fellow cast members, promises to make this a must-see event.”
2026 Is Going To Be A Busy Year For Jason Statham
Statham will look to start 2026 off strong at the box office with Shelter, but it is not the only new Jason Statham action movie audiences are getting in 2026.
Mutiny is another action thriller from Statham coming in 2026. It was originally dated for January 9, 2026, but was delayed and is now eyeing a summer 2026 release date. Statham stars as Cole Reed, an employee who is set up to take the fall for his boss’s murder. Annabelle Wallis, Roland Moller, Jason Wong, Ben Catwright, and many others star.
Then there’s The Beekeeper 2, the sequel to Statham’s $162 million action hit, which is now in production. The Beekeeper 2 does not have a release date, but it’s expected to premiere in 2026, as well. Statham returns as Adam Clay in the sequel, as does Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, and Jemma Redgrave. New additions to the cast include Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff, and Adam Copeland.
The triple dose of Statham has 2026 poised to be the actor’s biggest year since 2023, when he starred in Fast X, Meg 2: The Trench, The Expendables 4, and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre.
