Star Wars: Visions season 3, one of the best Star Wars TV shows of all time, returns in exactly one month. It’s been six years since the last Star Wars movie, and the franchise has instead shifted to Disney+ for a range of live-action and animated TV shows.
These have done far more than just keep the Star Wars flame burning; rather, they’ve allowed the franchise to flourish, bringing back celebrated actors like Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen. The Mandalorian season 4 even appears to have been adapted into the next Star Wars movie, next year’s The Mandalorian and Grogu.
But one of the best Star Wars TV shows of all time, with a 98% Rotten Tomatoes score, is about to return for a third season.
Star Wars: Visions Is Unlike Any Other TV Show
Star Wars: Visions season 3 arrives in exactly one month’s time. Visions is a unique TV show, because these stories are not canon. Rather, they’re an opportunity for different animation houses to play in George Lucas’ sandbox, creating unique stories that explore his themes and ideas.
Season 3 will be a bold step forward for Visions, though, because it will continue stories from previous seasons. We’ll return to the adventures of the Ronin, a former Sith Lord who now hunts the dark side – and is about to go up against a fallen Jedi Grandmaster. It’s a thrilling inversion of light and dark.

This Is The Future Of Star Wars
Star Wars fans often act like canonicity is the same thing as quality. Star Wars: Visions has always proved that to be wrong, because these stories are absolutely stunning, and the animation is often breathtaking. Lucasfilm seem well aware of this, because we know there will be a spinoff from Visions season 3.
Star Wars: Visions Presents: The Ninth Jedi, due out next year, will continue the story of Production IG’s “Ninth Jedi” timeline. This is a story in which the Jedi Order is being rebuilt in the shadow of the Sith, an alternate timeline full of so much potential. It’s hopefully only the first such spinoff.
2025 has been a big year for Star Wars TV, particularly with the success of Andor season 2. Now, with Star Wars: Visions season 3, things are going to end on a high note.
