New Batman art shows a popular choice for the hero in the new DC Universe suiting up as the Dark Knight. Many actors want to be part of the franchise, with Batman’s The Brave and the Bold movie set to mark Bruce Wayne’s live-action debut in the DCU. The character previously had a non-speaking cameo in the animated Creature Commandos.
Among those wanting to lead DC’s upcoming Batman movie are popular stars like Jensen Ackles, Jake Gyllenhaal, Alan Ritchson, and more. Gunn has talked to the latter about it, with Ritchson claiming that a DC role might be in his future but not as Batman. Recently, Gunn shared another DCU Batman casting update, and it upped Brandon Sklenar’s chances of getting cast.

The art merges Robert Pattinson’s Batman suit design with an updated armored look and the Dark Knight’s classic blue and silver color scheme from DC Comics. The result is a unique Batsuit that is inspired by beloved interpretations of the character, with Sklenar looking pitch-perfect as the DCU Batman.
What The Brandon Sklenar DCU Batman Art Means
The actor has commented on how he wants to play the DCU Batman, even responding to fan art of him as the hero, and said that DC is aware of him on some level. Recently, Gunn claimed he has actors on his shortlist to play Batman. After he was directly pointed to 1923, and thus Sklenar, Gunn said, “I see what you’re doing.”
Our Take On The Brandon Sklenar DCU Batman Art
Based on his past projects and the actor’s desire to play the DCU Batman, I believe Sklenar could be a great pick for the DC hero. With Gunn also a fan of his and 1923 as a whole, I’m sure Sklenar will at least get the chance to audition/screen test for the role of Batman.
Brandon Sklenar’s age also helps. Most of the popular choices to play DCU Batman among fans are in their 40s. At 35, Sklenar would only be a few years older than Superman actor David Corenswet, who is 32. That bodes well for his DCU casting chances. All in all, I believe Sklenar could work well as both the Batman and Bruce Wayne sides of the character.
