The Summer I Turned Pretty will conclude with a movie, Prime Video has confirmed. The hit show based on Jenny Han’s best-selling books has been a mᴀssive hit on Prime, as Belly (Lola Tung) finds herself in a love triangle with two brothers, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 was one of the buzziest shows of summer 2025.
With the final episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty now streaming, the news promises that Belly’s story is not over. Han will direct while she and Sarah Kucserka will write The Summer I Turned Pretty movie, though details about the plot are being kept under wraps. Though Han teased a bit of what’s next in Prime Video’s announcement:
“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”
While not confirmed in the announcement, we’d presume that Tung, Briney, Casalegno, and other fan-favorites from The Summer I Turned Pretty cast will return for the movie.
Warning: Below are spoilers for The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, Episode 11 and the book.
What This Means For The Summer I Turned Pretty Finale
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, Episode 11, “At Last,” made it official – Belly and Conrad end up together. The pair have a reunion in Paris, where they have an honest talk about their history before reigniting their relationship. After they reunite, there’s a time jump where we see Belly and Conrad heading back to the beach house in Cousins as the finale ends.
Readers of the book, however, know there is a bit more to the story. The book features a four-page epilogue where Belly reveals that she and Conrad are married. This would make sense as the “big milestone” that Han referred to in the movie’s announcement.
Again, no details about The Summer I Turned Pretty movie are being shared right now, but considering Han has already told readers that Belly and Conrad end up married, it would make sense to deliver that monumental occasion to fans with the movie.
Our Take On The Summer I Turned Pretty Movie
While some fans may have been a little disappointed that they didn’t see Belly and Conrad’s wedding as part of The Summer I Turned Pretty finale, presuming that is going to be the subject of the movie should more than make up for it.
As Han alludes to, it also makes sense to depict the wedding as a movie, seeing as she’ll likely be building out just a four-page epilogue. She likely can easily fill a two-hour movie about the wedding, but another season may have dragged things out.
So don’t be sad the TV series is over, be excited that (be it wedding or something else) The Summer I Turned Pretty still has some story left to tell.
