This spooky season, you’ll be able to watch the cult classic Trick ‘r Treat like never before thanks to Fathom Events. The 2007 horror anthology film is made of five separate but interwoven stories that all feature Sam, a demonic creature who wears a burlap sack over his head as he enforces the rules of Halloween.

Appearing in Trick ‘r Treat are X-Men alums Anna Paquin and Brian Cox, as well as Dylan Baker (Hunters) and Leslie Bibb (The White Lotus).
Now, Fathom Events is bringing Trick r’ Treat to movie theaters for its first-ever nationwide release in newly restored 4K. Watch what happens when Sam’s victims break Halloween rules on a big screen befitting the movie’s impact on the horror genre. But beware: Trick ‘r Treat is only back in theaters on October 14 and 16.

Why Trick ‘R Treat’s Remaster Is Worth A Trip To The Theater
Trick ‘r Treat’s nationwide release courtesy of Fathom Events is mᴀssive for the film, but it’s far from the only selling point. In celebration of Sam’s appearance on the big screen, audiences will be treated to special bonus content from writer-director Michael Dougherty. Learn what stories and experiences from Dougherty’s own life inspired Trick ‘r Treat’s signature brand of madness.
In addition, before the film rolls, audiences will see the piece that started it all. Dougherty’s 1996 animated short Season’s Greetings introduced the character of Sam, and even that has been given a 4K restoration for Trick ‘r Treat’s trip to the theater.
As even some Trick ‘r Treat fans might not be aware of Sam’s origins, the inclusion of Season’s Greetings can both prime an audience and spread the lore of the impish creature.
Despite being sent straight to DVD in 2007, Trick ‘r Treat has captured the imaginations of more and more horror fans since it was released. Sam has become a beloved piece of Halloween iconography, and now longtime fans and the soon-to-be initiated alike can enjoy seeing him bigger and better than ever.
Trick ‘r Treat will play in theaters nationwide on October 14 and 16. You can get tickets at FathomEntertainment.com.
