A cryptic new look at Avengers: Doomsday has been shared. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is on its way to releasing what will be its biggest movie thus far in 2026. Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast includes characters from all over the MCU, with a healthy mix of franchise veterans and Multiverse Saga stars, as well as many returning Fox X-Men franchise actors.
While Avengers: Doomsday has been filming for months, the project has not had the same number of set videos and pH๏τos leaking as other superhero films and shows have seen over the past few years. Marvel is keeping a тιԍнт lid on the next Avengers movie’s story, which means every official tease is important. Now, a new look at the film has been released.
On Instagram, the Russo Brothers teased Avengers: Doomsday with a new set pH๏τo that claims “Doomsday is coming.”

As has become the norm for the MCU’s next Avengers movie, the set pH๏τo does not clearly point to a character or plot point for Avengers: Doomsday. The blurry image shared by the Russo Brothers seems to be from a chalkboard with equations or writing that can’t be read. However, it might connect to a 2025 MCU movie.
What The New Avengers: Doomsday Set PH๏τo Means
With the Russos sharing a blurry Avengers: Doomsday image, it is hard to know for sure what the meaning is behind the MCU’s new set pH๏τo. That said, The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ post-credits scene featured Doctor Doom’s franchise debut. The character was last seen talking to Franklin Richards, which should lead to the Fantastic Four’s role in the Avengers movie.
In the Fantastic Four movie, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards was seen scribbling away on his chalkboard as he tried to find solutions to the team’s many Galactus and Franklin-related problems. The new Avengers: Doomsday set pH๏τo could be a close look at the chalkboard. Reed could be looking at ways to stop or help Doctor Doom with the multiverse.
After all, the Fantastic Four do make their way to the MCU’s main universe, or at least their spaceship does, as seen in one of Thunderbolts*‘s post-credits scenes. Avengers: Doomsday could show how that happens, with Reed figuring out multiversal travel. Marvel’s Kevin Feige has already confirmed that the Fantastic Four’s Baxter Building is in Avengers: Doomsday, so that could really be Reed’s chalkboard.
Our Take On The New Avengers: Doomsday Set PH๏τo
With details about Avengers: Doomsday‘s story kept a secret for now and set pH๏τos barely coming out, anything that Marvel chooses to tease or reveal related to the upcoming movie is exciting. Given the blurry nature of the new Avengers: Doomsday set pH๏τo, there is not a lot to help figure out exactly what it means, but the connection to Reed Richards feels possible.
Perhaps it could also relate to Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom or Kelsey Grammer’s Beast, two other incredibly smart Marvel characters who are confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday and could be taking to a chalkboard to solve multiverse questions. Based on the secrecy surrounding the movie, the answer might only be revealed when Avengers: Doomsday premieres on December 18, 2026.
