The Alien franchise began in 1979 with Ridley Scott’s seminal film, which combined claustrophobic horror with sleek and industrial sci-fi, following Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and her battle with a Xenomorph aboard a commercial space tug.
