Will Poulter Reuniting With Warfare Co-Star In New Netflix Movie From Oscar-Nominated Director

One of Will Poulter‘s next movie projects has been announced. Poulter has been an actor for over a decade now, but he’s been getting more and more visibility lately. One of his roles this year was returning to his Emmy-nominated guest acting part in The Bear for season 4.

Poulter was also in several other projects this year. He was one of the villain characters in Death of a Unicorn, an A24 horror comedy which got mixed reviews and bombed at the box office. In addition to The Bear, he made another TV appearance in Black Mirror season 7.

As per ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, Poulter is joining forces with one of his co-stars from another major 2025 movie. Poulter will star in the movie Saturn Return, which will be on Netflix. Poulter will star alongside Charles Melton and Rachel Brosnahan.

The film is a romance movie set in Chicago. According to this early report, it will explore themes including love, loss, and the complications in life as it tracks a decade-long romance. It will be directed by Greg Kwedar and produced by Plan B. It is written by Gaelyn Golde.

Saturn Return will mark the reunion of Poulter and Melton. They just recently starred together in the Alex Garland-helmed film Warfare, which also featured Joseph Quinn, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Cosmo Jarvis, Noah Centineo, and Michael Gandolfini. The film received decent reviews and brought in $33.5 million at the box office.

As such, Saturn Return will mark the reunion between these two lead actors. The film will also mark another collaboration between Netflix and Melton, who were previously paired for the award-nominated movie May December. This will be a good chance for Melton to grow his career and his working relationship with the streamer.

The script was revised by director Kwedar along with Clint Bentley, who also worked together on the major Sundance project Train Dreams. This movie was also acquired by Netflix, marking another group of Saturn Return creatives who are deepening their relationship with the streamer. Ultimately, Saturn Return will be a good move for all of their careers.

Our Take On Saturn Return

While this feels like a pretty early read still, Saturn Return could be a good film to watch out for during whatever awards season it ends up released in. Kwedar and Bentley are just coming off of an Oscar nomination last year for Best Adapted Screenplay for Sing Sing, and could get nominated again this year.

If Saturn Return gets awards’ clout, this could be good news for Poulter. While he has twice been nominated for Emmys, the star has never gotten an Oscar nomination. If all goes well for the film, Saturn Return could change that.
