Based on the ending of the third Sonic film, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 seems ready to show Sonic facing alongside Amy Rose against an army of Metal Sonics. Given how strong Sonic’s metal doppelgangers seem to be, it is possible that Sonic will need a power upgrade in the next film.
So far, Sonic has gotten stronger with each movie, whether it’s due to making new allies or acquiring new items like the Master Emerald. Since the Master Emerald seemed to be lost after Shadow’s disappearance at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic may need to find another weapon that he can use to save the world.
However, that may not be so difficult now that he has met Amy. While she has already proven herself to be a powerful ally in the Sonic film franchise, Amy could give Sonic access to a weapon much like her own to face the next big threat in Sonic the Hedgehog 4‘s story.
Sonic Could Get His Own Piko Piko Hammer In Sonic 4 Thanks To Amy Rose
In the post-credits scene in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Amy uses her Piko Piko Hammer to destroy a swarm of Metal Sonics and save Sonic’s life. How swiftly Amy was able to destroy all these ᴅᴇᴀᴅly robots with only her hammer makes it clear to audiences, and Sonic, just how powerful this weapon is.
Following her appearance in the franchise, it’s possible Amy may help Sonic get a hammer of his own in Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Since the hammer itself appears to be a high-tech device, Amy or one of her other allies could help Sonic construct another hammer purely for Sonic.
On occasion, Sonic has used a Piko Piko Hammer in the video games. He even got his own version of it in Sonic Advance 3, which was personally styled to match him. Sonic’s Piko Piko Hammer has a red handle and blue flames on the hammer head.
The fourth Sonic movie could adapt this concept as Sonic takes on his latest adversary. Sonic could also add his Chaos energy to his hammer to give it an electric, ultra-powerful boost. This could essentially give Sonic his own version of Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir, which can make for an incredible fight scene.
Even if Amy doesn’t help Sonic find or create a new hammer in the next movie, the blue blur could borrow Amy’s hammer on the battlefield like Captain America and use it as a symbolic form of teamwork.
Overall, Sonic using this weapon could not only help him gain power to fight Metal Sonic, but it could also help make the story feel a little fresher and more exciting compared to the previous installments in the film franchise. He hasn’t used weapons while fighting previously, so Sonic the Hedgehog 4 can give hammer time a new meaning if he and Amy use them.
