Margot Robbie & Jacob Elordi’s Wuthering Heights Adaptation Gets Jaw-Dropping First Trailer

The official teaser for Wuthering Heights has arrived. The upcoming adaptation of the iconic Emily Brontë novel of the same name was directed by Oscar-winner Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman, Saltburn) and stars Margot Robbie (Barbie, Suicide Squad) as Catherine Earnshaw opposite Jacob Elordi (Euphoria, Saltburn) as Heathcliff.

The Wuthering Heights adaptation also stars Shazad Latif as Edgar Linton, Alison Oliver as Isabella Linton, Hong Chau as Nelly Dean, Charlotte Mellington as Young Catherine, Owen Cooper as Young Heathcliff, and Vy Nguyen as Young Nelly. It is set to debut in theaters on February 13, 2026.

Warner Bros. has now unleashed the first official teaser trailer for Wuthering Heights. The trailer opens on Catherine sitting at the table, seemingly having a romantic fantasy about Heathcliff as various footage of their infatuation plays out onscreen. As the footage grows steamier, a remix of Charli XCX’s “Everything Is Romantic” dominates the soundtrack.

The trailer, which also includes a тιтle card revealing that the movie will feature original songs by Charli XCX, ends with a quiet moment between Heathcliff and Catherine where he asks “do you want me to stop?” and she breathily whispers “No.” Watch the full teaser below:

What This Means For Wuthering Heights

This trailer proves once and for all that, even though Wuthering Heights is a period piece, it will still take a similar approach to previous Emerald Fennell movies, which have generally had more modern sensibilities. From the glimpse that the teaser gives, it seems that it most resembles 2023’s Saltburn.

This is thanks to the ornate production design of the grand home displayed in one memorable sH๏τ, the way the camera lingers on Jacob Elordi, and the juxtaposition of “proper” English society and urgent sensuality.

Saltburn followed university student Oliver (Barry Keoghan) becoming psychoSєxually obsessed with his rich classmate Felix (Jacob Elordi) and insinuating himself into his family.

The fact that the Margot Robbie movie will feature a pop soundtrack also hearkens back to previous Fennell projects. Promising Young Woman notably featured “Stars Are Blind” by Paris Hilton, while Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “Murder on the Dancefloor” underscored a pivotal scene in Saltburn, so Wuthering Heights follows in their footsteps.

While Wuthering Heights feels of a piece with Promising Young Woman and Saltburn, this trailer also implies that the movie has a similar feel to Baz Luhrmann’s 2013 feature The Great Gatsby, another adaptation of a classic novel that featured exaggerated imagery and a modern soundtrack.

If Wuthering Heights can capture that same essence, it could potentially become a major critical and commercial hit. After all, The Great Gatsby was the 20th highest-grossing movie of 2013 with a $353.6 million global haul and went on to be nominated for two Oscars, winning both (for Costume Design and Production Design).
