Avengers: Doomsday will feature Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in his biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe role yet, and fans are not prepared for him, at least according to one Marvel star. Downey first appeared as Victor von Doom in The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ mid-credits scene. However, his face was not visible, with shadows only leaving Doom’s costume to be seen.
Downey is expected to lead Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast in the same way that Josh Brolin’s Thanos was the effective main character of 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, despite the high number of heroes involved. At this moment, little is known about what to expect from Avengers: Doomsday‘s story, but a returning MCU star has taken time to hype up RDJ’s Doctor Doom.
Speaking with The River, Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu teased what Robert Downey Jr. brings to the table as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. According to the Marvel star, Downey will blow everyone away with the way he plays Victor von Doom in the upcoming MCU movie. Liu also noted how the actor was integral to Marvel’s success.
