Jensen Ackles joins the DC Universe for The Brave and the Bold as Batman through art. As The Batman universe with Robert Pattinson in Matt Reeves’ Elseworlds property remains separate from DC Studios’ continuity, the franchise has yet to cast its new Dark Knight in James Gunn’s superhero reboot.
Alan Ritchson as Batman has been one of the popular casting choices for quite some time with audience members, as the reboot for the Caped Crusader remains in development. However, the Reacher star recently stated that he doesn’t think the DC gig is in his future, after having had conversations with Gunn.
Another fan-casting idea that many have been wanting to see for the DCU when it comes to the Gotham City superhero is Ackles, who has also gone on the record about wanting the chance to play the character in Gunn’s franchise. To show what he could look like as Batman, Buffy2Ville shared a design of the Supernatural star in the Batsuit. Check it out below:
The artwork sees The Boys actor in an armored version of Bruce Wayne’s Bat costume. Ackles is no stranger to playing Batman, as he has previously voiced the character for the Tomorrowverse, a short-lived animated franchise for DC.
What The Jensen Ackles As Batman Art Means
As The Brave and the Bold movie is still being written, the casting for the leading role is not happening any time soon, especially because there is no release date set for the project either. However, with a major role like Batman, it’s no shock that viewers are making their voices heard about who should portray the character in the DCU.
Given Ackles’ popularity as a leading action star, it makes sense that the DC audience is sharing their support for him as Batman, when he has talked about wanting to play the role in live-action. But for the time being, it remains to be seen if Ackles will be cast as Batman in Gunn’s burgeoning comic book franchise.
Our Take On The Jensen Ackles As Batman Art
The artwork of Ackles as Batman goes to show how terrific he would look as the DC icon, and knowing his range as an actor, the DCU would land itself an invaluable star if he got tapped for The Brave and the Bold. Since the franchise will be following an established iteration of the Dark Knight, Ackles would fit the gig perfectly.
Seeing what Ackles could do as the beloved DC hero in the DCU’s Chapter 1: “Gods and Monsters” and beyond would also be similar to how many wanted to see David Corenswet be cast as Superman years before DC Studios was even a thing. Hopefully, Ackles will at least be considered for The Brave and The Bold when the casting search begins.
