Grant Gustin’s The Flash & Pattinson’s Batman Suit Up With Corenswet’s Superman In DCU Art

Grant Gustin’s The Flash is joined by Robert Pattinson’s Batman and David Corenswet’s Superman as a possible main trio for the new DC Universe in new DC art. Gustin famously played Barry Allen for nine seasons of The Flash, leading the most popular of the Arrowverse DC series. With Ezra Miller out as The Flash, Gustin could theoretically join the DCU.

As for Pattinson’s Batman, the actor is set to star in at least two more movies in director Matt Reeves’ The Batman franchise. The actor has been heavily rumored to become the DCU Batman, though James Gunn has addressed the rumors multiple times, making it seem like that will not happen. Corenswet’s Superman led the DCU Chapter One’s first movie.

All DC heroes appear wearing their costumes from their last projects. Gustin’s Flash does not look out of place at all alongside the movie heroes, with his version of Barry Allen fitting in nicely with Corenswet’s more vibrant Superman costume. The fan art raises a good idea for future DC movies.

The fan art makes a case for Pattinson, Corenswet, and Gustin to become a power trio in the DCU. Pattinson’s version of Batman offers a nice contrast to the other two heroes, as his suit is darker and more realistic, while Corenswet’s Superman and Gustin’s Flash sport brighter costumes more rooted in their characters’ classic DC Comics looks.

As it stands, the chances of seeing the trio together onscreen exist. While Gunn and Reeves have indicated that Pattinson will not be the DCU Batman, there have also been comments that teased the door was not completely closed on the idea. Gunn even revealed that he did think about that possibility. As for Gustin, his The Flash return is also possible.

The fan campaign for Gustin’s Barry Allen to appear in the DCEU The Flash movie has since transformed into a campaign for the actor to take over as the DCU version of The Flash. While Gunn has not directly addressed whether he would consider that, DC’s creative chief has claimed that he would love to work with Gustin in the future.

Our Take On The Gustin Flash, Pattinson Batman & Corenswet Superman DCU Crossover Art

For the time being, the DCU fan art, as its caption says, will remain “wishful thinking.” That said, the door is not closed on Gustin’s The Flash return in Gunn’s DC Universe. While a new Batman is expected to be cast for The Brave and the Bold movie, the many rumors about Pattinson making the jump to the DCU could also pan out.

Pattinson and Gustin could always play slightly different versions of their characters if Gunn were to cast them as Batman and The Flash in the DCU. However, the idea of bringing baggage from other franchises, particularly the Arrowverse, which ran for over a decade, might go against the DCU’s plans. As such, it stands to be seen if the trio can unite.
