Star Wars Really Has Gone All Out With Its New Movie Cast

A new Star Wars movie has truly gone all-out with its cast. The upcoming Star Wars movies of the next few years will see a lot of familiar faces presented on the big screen. Be it the well-known cast of The Mandalorian and Grogu or the return of Daisy Ridley as Rey Skywalker, Star Wars’ future centers on known characters.

Some of the best Star Wars characters of the Disney era will be returning, though not without unfamiliar faces among them.

One specific Star Wars movie that is currently in production is emblematic of the latter aspect by sporting an all-new cast. Not only will this allow for new Star Wars characters to be explored, but the franchise has gone all-out with the actors hired to play them.

Star Wars: Starfighter Has An All-Star Cast

Alongside Gosling, Smith, and Goth, big Hollywood stars like Amy Adams and Aaron Pierre were confirmed for Star Wars: Starfighter. This is alongside well-known British actors like Simon Bird and Daniel Ings. Amy Adams’ resume speaks for itself, with the actor having appeared in some major Hollywood movies that earned her six Academy Award nominations.

If Aaron Pierre can be described as anything, it is one of the most exciting up-and-coming leading men in Hollywood. He starred in the acclaimed Rebel Ridge in 2024 and will play a Green Lantern, John Stewart, in James Gunn’s DC Universe. Combined with the immense star power of Gosling, Goth, and Smith, Star Wars: Starfighter‘s cast is truly all-star.

This Is A Very Different Kind Of Star Wars Movie

In many ways, Star Wars: Starfighter is a unique Star Wars movie. The cast alone proves this, with Lucasfilm opting to hire big Hollywood names almost across the board. Star Wars has long been a franchise synonymous with casting smaller actors and turning them into household names.

The likes of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Hayden Christensen, Daisy Ridley, and John Boyega are proof of this. Evidently, though, Starfighter is changing tack. Gosling is one of the biggest actors in Hollywood at the moment, with Goth being a well-known modern “scream queen,” and Smith having his fame from Doctor Who.

Adams and Pierre round out this well-known cast, proving how different Star Wars: Starfighter truly is. This is without mentioning the film’s exploration of the Star Wars timeline past The Rise of Skywalker, its seeming focus on non-Force-sensitive fighter pilots, and big-budget director Shawn Levy being at the helm. Clearly, Star Wars: Starfighter is a different kind of Star Wars movie altogether.
