New Ridley Scott-Produced Horror Thriller Casts Alexandra Daddario & John Chu

Ridley Scott has been one of the most important creative voices in Hollywood over the last several decades. Though he worked on several TV series throughout the 1960s, his movie career officially kicked off in 1977, when he directed a period drama called The Duelists.

Period pieces like this would become a more significant element of Ridley Scott’s career. He famously helmed the movie Gladiator, which would go on to win Best Picture at the Oscars and earn a sequel over two decades later. Scott’s historical epics also include Napoleon, The Last Duel, and Exodus: Gods and Kings.

However, Scott’s creative vision extends beyond just directing. He is also a prolific producer, more often than not producing and co-producing his own projects. In the last decade, especially, he has also spent ample time uplifting other work, producing even when he is not in the director’s chair.

Recent examples of such work include the TV show Dope Thief (of which he directed only one episode) and the movies Echo Valley and The Chronology of Water. Even when he is not directing, Ridley Scott’s name can go a long way and is thus often publicized in marketing for these movies. Now, a Scott-produced horror movie just got a casting update.

Two Main Cast Members Are Announced For Inground

The upcoming horror Inground has officially gained cast members. The new movie will be about a father who builds a backyard pool to try to connect with his young son during his divorce from the son’s mother. However, their seemingly sweet and joyful project quickly turns into the father’s biggest nightmare.

Inground is produced by Scott, but directed by Aaron Katz. Katz’s previous work includes the 2017 mystery thriller Gemini, starring Lola Kirke and Zoë Kravitz. Inground‘s screenplay was penned by Dan Dworkin.

As per ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, Inground officially has two new cast members, Alexandra Daddario and John Cho. The film is now slated to begin production in March 2026.

Inground will now represent an ongoing creative relationship between Cho and Katz. Cho previously appeared in Gemini, which featured a lot of notable stars. Working with these actors will help to elevate Katz and his work, boosting the new horror film.

It is also an interesting opportunity for Scott to continue to support other creatives even when he is not taking directorial control himself. Scott has a busy slate coming up with his various off-screen roles, but with a good cast lined up now as well, hopefully, Inground can be one of his successes.
