The Naked Gun Digital Release Confirmed: Liam Neeson Shouts Nonstop Insults In Deleted Scene [EXCLUSIVE]

A deleted scene from The Naked Gun sees Liam Neeson chaotically grabbing the mic at an MMA match. 2025’s The Naked Gun is a legacy sequel to the Naked Gun franchise, which included a trilogy of comedy movies starring Leslie Nielsen as the wacky Lt. Frank Drebin that were themselves spinoffs of the 1982 parody series Police Squad!.

The new movie, which was directed by Akiva Schaffer, stars Neeson as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. opposite an ensemble that includes Pamela Anderson, Danny Huston, Kevin Durand, and Paul Walter Hauser. It has so far grossed $89.1 million worldwide, becoming the third highest-grossing live-action comedy movie of the year to date.

ScreenRant can now exclusively share a deleted scene from The Naked Gun ahead of the movie’s digital release date on September 2 (which will be followed by a physical media release on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on November 11).

The deleted scene offers an expanded look at the mayhem Frank Drebin Jr. causes at an “WWFC” event in the movie. In addition to him punching out real-life announcer Bruce Buffer, he shouts insults at the audience, who warm to his display as if it is one of the planned matches.

However, he continues to rant and it quickly goes off the rails. He eventually loses the audience as he shares his opinions on comedically exaggerated topics such as rap rock and dressing up to fly on airplanes. Watch the full clip below:

What This Means For The Naked Gun

This deleted scene proves that there is much more of the movie to experience in the wake of the Naked Gun theatrical release. While the WWFC scene existed in the theatrical cut of the comedy movie, this new clip expands greatly upon the comic potential of the existing setpiece.

The WWFC scene also features cameos from real-life UFC fighters Kamaru Usman and Justin Gaethje.

The Liam Neeson movie is so joke-packed that it doesn’t necessarily feel like it’s missing anything in its original cut. Because of this, it was perhaps inevitable that any scene that was removed from the movie would have been cut for time rather than a lack of comic potential, as proven by this extended look at the WWFC sequence.

Our Take On The Naked Gun Digital Release

The Naked Gun‘s digital release comes at the perfect time, because the last few months of 2025 have a dearth of new live-action comedies coming to theaters beyond Spinal Tap II: The End Continues. Thanks to its special features providing even more wacky comedy, the digital release could offer some much-needed laughs amid the upcoming horror movies and holiday blockbusters.
