Heartstopper’s Kit Connor Hints At Steamy Scene In Netflix Movie

Heartstopper‘s Kit Connor previews a big moment for the main characters as the Netflix teen drama prepares to wrap with a movie. The farewell film, тιтled Heartstopper: Forever, is executive-produced by Connor and co-star Joe Locke. It’ll serve as a series-ender, focusing on Nick (Connor) and Charlie (Locke) as they face their biggest challenge yet and begin to go down different paths.

Franchise creator Alice Oseman, who wrote the graphic novels on which the show is based, will also write the farewell movie. Wash Westmoreland, who helmed the Oscar-winning film Still Alice, will step behind the camera to direct. Several notable Heartstopper cast members are set to reprise their roles, though an exact release date has not been announced.

Interviewing fellow British actor Louis Partridge for VMan, Connor offered insight into what fans can expect from Heartstopper: Forever. During the interview, which was conducted before the Netflix movie had wrapped shooting, Connor briefly mentions a “quite a steamy scene” for the two main characters. Read the exchange below:

Louis Partridge: You just started Heartstopper, right?

Kit Conner: Yeah, literally week one. So I was doing rugby training today, hence all the mud and lovely stuff—my favorite thing to do.

Louis Partridge: If it isn’t rugby training, it’s SEAL training. That’s just amazing.

Kit Conner: Always some kind of throwing myself on the ground. We sH๏τ quite a steamy scene yesterday. So again, throwing myself on the ground in a different way.

What This Means For The Heartstopper Movie

The upcoming Netflix Original will pick up after the Heartstopper season 3 finale, which teases Nick and Charlie entering the next phase of their lives. Part of that connects to a more mature depiction of the protagonists, which the show has been building to all along. It is significant because it’s a question that has lingered ever since Nick and Charlie first met.

Based on what’s known about Heartstopper: Forever, Charlie and Nick will have to face the realities of a long-distance relationship. Nick prepares to leave for university, just as Charlie begins to find his own independence. They are dealing with these doubts, while their friend group also faces its share of ups and downs.

The movie, which hails from See-Saw films, is also executive-produced by Oseman, Euros Lyn, Patrick Walters, Iain Canning, and Emile Sherman. It will tackle the question of whether the bonds formed early in life can withstand changes and the general uncertainty of growing older in a new environment.
