Nicholas Galitzine & Charli XCX’s Movie Adaptation Of Beloved Fantasy Graphic Novel Reveals Teaser Trailer

The Independent Film Company (IFC) has released its initial teaser trailer for 100 Nights of Hero, something fans of Isabel Greenberg’s graphic novel, on which it is based, will be intrigued by. The fantasy romance movie follows an unhappy wife who, with her maid for company, is left to her own devices by her husband as a way to test her fidelity while an alluring visitor is at their home.

100 Nights of Hero, written and directed by Julia Jackman, also has an impressive cast, starring Emma Corrin, Nicholas Galitzine, Maika Monroe, Amir El-Masry, Charli XCX, Richard E. Grant, and Felicity Jones. It will have its world premiere on September 6 at the Venice International Film Festival, ahead of its theatrical release on December 6.

Focusing on Cherry (Monroe), Jerome’s (El-Masry) wife, who is in love with her maid Hero (Corrin), the story revolves around the two women’s plan to fend off Manfred’s (Galitzine) advances. The graphic novel, which was inspired by The Arabian Nights, follows the plan for Hero to keep Manfred distracted by telling him a fantastical story every night for 100 nights.

What This Means For 100 Nights Of Hero

100 Nights of Hero‘s teaser demonstrates a playfully whimsical tone, despite some of the darker underpinnings of the story. Thus, it will likely attract fantasy fans looking for a unique, slightly comedic romance; this one, in particular, based on its source material, will also be concerned with the power of storytelling as a concept.

On the other hand, 100 Nights of Hero has some major up-and-coming talent who will make the movie difficult to ignore. While Richard E. Grant and Felicity Jones are established A-listers at this point, Nicholas Galitzine’s many movies since his breakout with Red, White, & Royal Blue have solidified him as a streaming era icon, and many will remember Maika Monroe from Longlegs.

Emma Corrin was excellent in The Crown and has done stage plays since then, as well as appearing in ᴅᴇᴀᴅpool & Wolverine and Nosferatu, making this return to an indie genre movie very exciting. And while Charli XCX missed out on playing the White Witch, 100 Nights of Hero is only the start of the singer’s plans to venture into acting.

Our Take On 100 Nights Of Hero’s Teaser

This is only the teaser, but I can’t wait to see a full trailer that will perhaps get even more people invested by showing more of Cherry and Hero’s relationship, the romance that is at the heart of this story.

But so far, 100 Nights of Hero is marketing itself well to appeal to fans of a couple of genre niches, and has the chance to have a mᴀssive debut at Venice, leading to a successful theatrical run.
