Fantastic Four: First Steps Box Office Just Cracked Disney's All-Time Chart With New Domestic Milestone

The Fantastic Four: First Steps has landed on a major box office chart. The movie, which was directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision), follows Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), the Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and the Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) attempting to stop Galactus (Ralph Ineson) from devouring Earth.

2025’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been running in theaters for nearly one full month, having kicked off on July 25. While it debuted with the best opening weekend of 2025 for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it followed that with a 67.1% week-on-week drop that marked one of the worst week 2 drops of the entire 37-film franchise.

Per ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, as of Saturday morning, The Fantastic Four is projected to earn a 3-day total of $5.8 million by the end of its fifth weekend in theaters. In addition to this total allowing it to maintain a spot on the domestic Top 5 chart for the fifth consecutive weekend, it pushes the movie’s cumulative domestic total to $257.1 million.

By hitting this total, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will climb the all-time chart of the highest-grossing Disney movies at the domestic box office, which includes releases from across their many brands, including Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilm. The new movie will surpᴀss the $254.6 million gross of 2024’s Mufasa: The Lion King to hit No. 50.

What This Means For The Fantastic Four: First Steps

While its stumbles at the box office have prevented it from shining in the same way as many previous Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, the fact that The Fantastic Four: First Steps has managed to land among Disney’s Top 50 domestic movies is nevertheless a remarkable feat.

Additionally, there is a strong possibility that it could keep climbing. If it manages to maintain its current level of audience hold, it should be able to climb past the domestic grosses of Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($259.7 million), The Incredibles ($261.4 million), and Monsters University ($268.5 million) by the end of its run, climbing to No. 46.

However, it will most likely not climb higher than that, as there is a large gap between Monsters University and the current No. 45 тιтle, which is that movie’s predecessor, Monsters, Inc. ($290.1 million).

This milestone’s also a good sign for the movie eventually ending up in the black. The reported budget of The Fantastic Four: First Steps is roughly $200 million, which could place its estimated break-even point as high as $500 million. However, this weekend places it above $479.4 million worldwide, so its current trajectory could see it eking out a profit.
