DreamWorks’ New Hit Animated Movie Is Finally Available At Home & It’s Perfect For The Whole Family

With projects like Dog Man and How To Train Your Dragon coming out this year alone, DreamWorks is having a very strong 2025. The studio, best known for projects like Shrek and Madagascar, has been one of the leading family animation studios for the past three decades, and its output doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

They’ve spent the last few years continuing to mine their biggest franchises, with new installments in Kung Fu Panda, The Boss Baby, and Puss in Boots coming out. Yet, there has also remained a concentration on releasing original or standalone movies that could launch a new series if successful.

That’s been the case with movies like The Wild Robot and The Bad Guys, which are among DreamWorks’ best original movies in a long time. The studio has now had another mᴀssive success that has performed well with critics and at the box office. What’s even better is that it’s now possible to watch it at home.

The Bad Guys 2 Is Now Available On Digital After A Favorable Theatrical Release

The Bad Guys DreamWorks 1

The Bad Guys was one of DreamWorks’ most popular movies from the past few years, and now The Bad Guys 2 is available to purchase on digital. The movie’s new release comes after a strong performance in theaters, where it found success at the box office and with critics.

The film centers around a group of reformed animal criminals who find themselves thrust back into their old ways when their paths cross with a new gang: the Bad Girls. The Bad Guys 2 stars Sam Rockwell, Danielle Brooks, Anthony Ramos, and Maria Bakalova in the lead roles, with director Pierre Perifel returning to helm the sequel.

The Bad Guys 2 is a really fun sequel that builds upon the strengths of its predecessor. Its Rotten Tomatoes critics’ and audience scores are currently sitting at 87% and 95% respectively, essentially matching the first movie’s results of 88% and 93%.

The Bad Guys 2 was also a pretty sizable success at the box office, pulling in $120 million across the world. While this is lower than many of DreamWorks’ recent sequels have managed, it’s still a strong turnout for a movie that only came out in theaters three weeks ago. This proves just how much interest there is in animated family films.

The sequel also likely will not be the last time audiences see these characters. Judging by The Bad Guys 2’s exciting ending, DreamWorks clearly has plans to expand this franchise in the future and potentially make it their next big тιтle moving forward into the future.

Thankfully, The Bad Guys 2 can now be rented or purchased through any of the big digital platforms, such as Prime Video or Apple TV. Pricing is $19.99 to rent and $29.99 to buy across all services.

But that doesn’t mean it’s too late to catch the film on the big screen; The Bad Guys 2 is still playing in select theaters around the world for anyone wanting to experience it on the big screen still.
