Perhaps the most obvious way is the tone and maturity of Peacemaker, which differs vastly from the more child-friendly, hopeful vibe of Superman. Peacemaker season 2 is certainly not suitable for younger viewers who enjoyed watching Superman, for a variety of reasons.

Peacemaker Season 2 Is A TV-MA DCU Adventure

The differences between these two properties are outlined via their different certification ratings. Superman was rated PG-13, whereas Peacemaker season 2 has a TV-MA rating on HBO Max. This meant that the former could be watched at any age, so long as their parents were okay with it. The same cannot be said for Peacemaker.

Even beyond that, Peacemaker season 2’s first few episodes go beyond the seeming norm for TV-MA productions. The C-bomb curse word is used several times, for instance, proving just how mature Peacemaker is in comparison to Superman.

Peacemaker Season 2 Has Sєx & Nudity

Alongside the bad language, Peacemaker season 2 includes Sєx and nudity in abundance. This follows on from Peacemaker season 1, but season 2 pushes its TV-MA rating even further. Again, the show’s recently released red band trailer hints at one scene that typifies this part of its rating.

Peacemaker season 2, episode 1 sees the character falling off the rails slightly. He undergoes some personal setbacks, leading to him inviting a lot of people to his house for very specific purposes. This leads to many scenes of a Sєxual nature and full frontal nudity in a way that is rarely shown on TV and film.

Peacemaker Season 2 Is A Violent DCU Show

If one thing was clear by the time of Peacemaker season 1’s ending, it is that it is a violent show. Peacemaker season 2 continues where this left off, with some violent action sequences being involved. One scene, for example, includes a bar fight with Emilia Harcourt, which has some very violent aspects.

Another from Peacemaker season 2, episode 2 involves Eagly, Chris’ pet eagle. The show is all but guaranteed to show even more violent scenes as it continues, proving yet again how much more mature it is than Superman, which had limited violence.

Peacemaker Season 2 Includes Drug Use

The final non-family-friendly element worth noting about Peacemaker season 2 is its depiction of drug use. This was an element of Peacemaker season 1, also, with season 2 following in its footsteps. In Peacemaker season 2, episode 1, the character’s aforementioned relapse into bad habits is driven by significant drug and alcohol consumption.

Chris utilizes a bong and also indulges in cocaine. This leads to the Sєx and ɴuᴅᴇ scenes, combining several of Peacemaker season 2’s more mature elements into one scene.

Peacemaker Season 2 Is Not A Kid-Friendly Follow-Up To Superman

Evidently, Peacemaker season 2 is not the follow-up to Superman from an age-rating perspective. Of course, the former continues the DCU and builds on some elements the latter included, but not everyone who watched Superman will be able to watch Peacemaker.

This is worth pointing out for the parents of children who have potentially seen ads for Peacemaker dubbing it as Superman‘s successor. The two are not comparable at all in terms of mature content, setting Peacemaker season 2 drastically apart from its DCU predecessor.
