DC Confirms Batman’s New Design For The Dark Knight’s Next Movie

DC’s next Batman movie has revealed what its Dark Knight will look like, and the new Bat-Suit looks great. Robert Pattinson is currently the only ongoing Batman in live-action. Previously, Ben Affleck played him in the DCEU, with Michael Keaton returning in The Flash, and once set to take over from Affleck, which has since been scrapped in favor of a reboot.

Batman’s The Brave and the Bold movie, which has yet to receive a date, will presumably debut the new Batman of James Gunn’s DC Universe. Until then, multiple films related to the Dark Knight will be released. While Batman’s next movie is not a theatrical project, the animated film is one of the hero’s most interesting adaptations in years.

DC Has Revealed What Aztec Batman’s Dark Knight Looks Like In New Trailer

Batman’s next movie is Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires. While there have been several different versions of Batman in live-action and animation throughout the years, the upcoming animated movie is a unique entry in the Dark Knight’s legacy. Instead of taking place in Gotham City or following Bruce Wayne as Batman, the film goes for a fresh location and concept.

Aztec Batman takes place in Tenochтιтlán, with the movie’s latest trailer showing the best look yet at its distinct Batman in action and how his backstory differs from Bruce Wayne’s. The new version of Batman is called Yohualli Coatl, and his desire to become a vengeful hero comes after his father is killed by the conquistador Hernán Cortés.

This fictional version of Cortés is one of the DC characters who appear in Aztec Batman with new designs and backgrounds, as the character evolves into this world’s Two-Face, meaning the Batman villain killed his father. Instead of protecting the streets of Gotham, Batman will try to get rid of the Spanish forces that have invaded his home.

Aztec Batman offers an exciting new twist to the Dark Knight’s bat-suits. As shown in the trailer, there will be a mix between what fans are used to seeing from Batman and elements unique to this version, inspired by Aztec culture. Instead of a traditional cowl, Aztec Batman dons a bat headdress. Jewelry and cloth make the suit different from most Bat-Suits.

The predominant black color scheme is the same as that used for most movie versions of Batman. The character will also have the glowing eyes, though yellow, not white, that have sporadically appeared in live-action films. The bat symbol is different from other iterations, more fragmented and drawing-like. Aztec Batman‘s new design is a nice mix of familiarity and fresh elements.
