“We Can Go Completely Breaking Bad”: Potential Nobody 3 Plot Details Revealed By Nobody 2 Director

Following Nobody 2, director Timo Tjahjanto has revealed potential plot details for another follow-up. The Nobody franchise, which follows the unᴀssuming ᴀssᴀssin Hutch Mansell (Bob Odenkirk) and his family, has become one of the most intriguing action sagas of the past few years. As a result, it’s no surprise that 2025’s Nobody 2 has scored 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.

With excitement running high for the recently released Nobody 2, speculation about a third film has naturally followed, especially seeing as the sequel doesn’t have a post-credit scene. Odenkirk has already pitched his ideas for Nobody 3, talking about the future of the franchise and further exploring the Mansell family. However, Nobody 2‘s director, Timo Tjahjanto, has also suggested ideas.

In an exclusive interview with ScreenRant‘s Joe Deckelmeier, Tjahjanto teased potential storylines for Nobody 3, revealing that he could take the Nobody franchise in a radically darker direction. When asked about where he sees Hutch’s story going, Tjahjanto didn’t hold back, stating: “We can go completely Breaking Bad.” Check out his comments below:

EXCLUSIVE: I said to Bob [Odenkirk], “We can go both ways. We can have the family become even more involved in your action, or we can go completely Breaking Bad.” I was saying, “Bob, think about this. Open in a desert, and there’s a trailer park, where Hutch Mansell sits there by himself, fully bearded, holding a sH๏τgun. His wife and his kids have left him, and now he’s alone.” He was like, “Well, that’s really dark.”

And it really is! So, we can have it be that, this time, Becca needs to find Hutch as he’s missing somewhere. I see a lot of possibilities. I think the cool thing with Hutch is, again, wherever we push the action, we could always easily bring the family. We could always make a meal out of Brady, who seems to be growing up into somebody as well. The world is our oyster when it comes to the Mansell family.

What Timo Tjahjanto’s Comments Mean For Nobody 3

Tjahjanto’s comments place the Nobody franchise’s future at a crossroads. Nobody 2 already teased the idea of Becca (Connie Nielsen) and Brady (Gage Munroe) becoming more involved, and a third installment could fully embrace this, turning the story into a violent family affair. This would further differentiate Nobody from John Wick, which shares a similar set-up and Derek Kolstad’s writing.

Alternatively, Tjahjanto’s idea of “going completely Breaking Bad” suggests a much grittier narrative. It would be a bold tonal shift from the usual action, exploring a version of Hutch who has lost everything that grounded him. Both directions offer compelling opportunities for the Nobody franchise, showcasing the creative team’s commitment to evolving the series beyond the typical “one-man army” formula.

Our Take On The Director’s Nobody 3 Ideas

What makes Nobody so compelling is its ability to balance absurdly slick action with grounded emotional stakes. Hutch isn’t just another action hero like John Wick; he’s a man constantly torn between the safety of suburban life and the thrill of his job. Therefore, the “Breaking Bad” pitch is quite interesting, as it would blur these boundaries for Hutch.

However, the idea of a full-family action ensemble is also quite cool, especially after Nobody 2‘s ending, and could help the franchise become something more enduring than just another action trilogy. Yet, no matter which way the franchise goes after Nobody 2, with Odenkirk and Tjahjanto teeming with ideas, it looks like Nobody might still just be getting started.
