Yet what’s easy to miss is just how many of these Marvel actors have also played other roles in comic book adaptations.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse boast A-list stars, acclaimed character actors, and beloved comedians all lending their voices. Many of these have crossed between Marvel and DC, while others have jumped from live-action to animation with ease. Looking back, it’s shocking how many familiar faces in Spider-Verse have comic book resumes longer than expected.

Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld voices Gwen Stacy, one of the heartbeats of the Spider-Verse films. She also plays Kate Bishop in the MCU’s Hawkeye and will likely return in other future Marvel projects. The duality of her roles is striking.

Steinfeld is rebellious, vulnerable, and heroic in both universes, but in completely different ways. Beyond animation, Henry entered the MCU in Eternals as Phastos, the genius inventor among the cosmic superheroes. While Jefferson grounds the story with human vulnerability, Phastos operates on a galactic scale, responsible for shaping civilizations. Zoë Kravitz voiced Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, giving Peter Parker’s love interest a brief but memorable appearance. Kravitz has also played some other memorable superheroes. Years earlier, she played Angel Salvatore in X-Men: First Class, a mutant with insect-like wings and sonic screams.
