August 19 Will Be A Great Day For Mission: Impossible Fans

August 19 will be an amazing day for Mission: Impossible fans, which means it is now the perfect time to start rewatching the franchise. The first Mission: Impossible movie was released in 1996 and was based on the TV series of the same name, which began airing in the ’60s. The show was popular, but in 1996, no one would have predicted just how big the movie franchise would become.

With Tom Cruise as its lead, the Mission: Impossible series has been one of the most popular franchises in Hollywood for nearly three decades. In this time, eight Mission: Impossible movies have been made. This series completely changed the trajectory of Cruise’s career, who has performed plenty of death-defying stunts in the Mission: Impossible movies.

These stunts have made Mission: Impossible movies must-see theatrical events. However, there’s a chance that the recently released Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning could be the last movie in the long-running spy series. This is bittersweet, but there’s another reason to celebrate the franchise soon.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning Releases On Digital On August 19

Like all the other films in the series, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is an incredible movie to watch on the biggest screen possible. However, for those who missed it in theaters or for fans who want to rewatch it at home, The Final Reckoning will be released on digital on August 19, 2025.

Cruise’s most recent movie is worth watching since it could very well be the last Mission: Impossible film. In the action-packed film, Ethan Hunt and his team embark on a high-stakes mission to take down villains like Gabriel and the AI program known as The Enтιтy, which is capable of destroying the world.

While reviews for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning aren’t as good as the last few movies in the series, it is still an exhilarating watch. The submarine scene and the biplane chase at the end of the film, which sees Cruise hanging from the side of one of the planes, are two of the best action sequences of the year, and perfectly showcase why this franchise is so beloved.

Unfortunately, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning hasn’t been a major financial success for Paramount. As of this writing, it has made $595 million at the worldwide box office. This would be amazing for most movies, but The Final Reckoning’s budget was reportedly $400 million. Because of this, there’s a chance that it will indeed be the final movie in the franchise.

Therefore, just in case it is the series’ last movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’s digital release should be celebrated. The film is an outstanding celebration of the franchise’s history and further proves why the Mission: Impossible movies are some of the most influential action flicks of all time.

If you are a Mission: Impossible fan, be sure to show your support for The Final Reckoning on August 19 once it becomes available to buy or rent on all major VOD platforms.
