DC Confirms Poison Ivy’s Design For Batman’s Next Movie

DC has big plans for projects focused on Batman, which span live-action and animation, and the Dark Knight’s next film is coming soon, with it set to introduce a new take on Poison Ivy. At the moment, when it comes to live-action adventures, DC’s slate of movies features a few entries for Bruce Wayne, both in and outside the DCU.

Robert Pattinson’s The Batman – Part II will be released in 2027, with a third movie planned to make it a trilogy for director Matt Reeves’ Gotham City. Batman’s The Brave and the Bold movie, which has no release date, reboots Bruce Wayne for the DCU. However, before both of those films, a 2025 Batman movie will be released, featuring many villains.

DC Has Revealed What Aztec Batman’s Poison Ivy Looks Like

Poison Ivy in Aztec Batman

Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires is the next Batman movie on DC’s schedule. The film is not meant for a wide theatrical release, with the Robin-focused Dynamic Duo set to be DC Studios’ first theatrical animated movie. Still, the Elseworlds — not set in James Gunn’s DC Universe — Batman movie has plenty of exciting elements to catch the attention of fans.

DC’s next Batman movie puts a whole new spin on the Dark Knight and many famous DC villains, including the Joker, Two-Face, and more. One of them is Poison Ivy, who will debut with a name change in the Aztec Batman world. The change is not a major one, with the character going by Forest Ivy in the upcoming movie.

Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires‘ new trailer shows an official look at the DC movie’s version of Poison Ivy. The character will continue with her traditional red hair and green skin combo. However, Forest Ivy’s design for the next Batman movie includes jewelry and a crown that connect to the cultural setting of the movie, making it unique for the character.

How Aztec Batman’s Poison Ivy Compares To Other DC Movie Versions Of Poison Ivy

So far, there has only been one live-action version of Poison Ivy in terms of movies, which was Uma Thurman’s in Batman & Robin. That version of the character had a very basic design, whereas Aztec Batman‘s Forest Ivy is closer to the comics, with vines crawling all over her body and green skin.

In comparison to other animated movie versions of Poison Ivy, Aztec Batman‘s main difference comes from her name change and the headdress/jewelry that connect to Aztec culture. While Two-Face and the Joker are villains, the trailer for the next Batman movie shows Forest Ivy protecting the woods from conquistadors, so her role in the Batman movie will be interesting.
